Erciyes Kanka Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Center is one of the leading transplant centers of our country in its field of education, training and service activities, and continues to serve our country and our people with its firsts in the field of bone marrow, its academic staff, science awards received at national and international congresses and numerous publications in international journals. .
Erciyes Kanka Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation Center was established on 01.04.2011 as the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit by Prof. Dr. It was established under the chairmanship of Musa Karakükcü by obtaining a license from the Ministry of Health.
With the establishment of the guidelines and the decision of the Erciyes University Senate in 2015, our unit was named Erciyes Children's Bone Marrow Transplant Center and became one of the few transplant centers in Turkey.
Erciyes Kanka Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation Center has become a hope for patients coming from many provinces of Turkey and abroad, with its 20 hepa-filtered rooms, accredited service and polyclinic conditions. In this context, nearly 700 hematopoietic stem cell transplants were performed in our center. These transplants include all types of stem cell transplants that can be performed in the world. Meanwhile, our center has pioneered many firsts in Turkey. One of the most important of these is the Alpha Beta Reduced Haploidentical transplantation in 2013, which was performed for the first time in Turkey in Erciyes Children's Bone Marrow Transplantation Center. From now on, our center has become the pioneer of these transplants in our country. Another first is Turkey's first Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Center, which applied for International JACIE Accreditation in 2018 and was accredited in 2019.
